"Diego López has had an outstanding season, but Casillas is one of ours"

Spain's national coach, Vicente del Bosque spoke at a press conference about the players he has called up to his provisional Confederations Cup squad, as well as the notable absences. Firstly, he commented on Negredo's absence: "Why don't we call up Iago Aspas, Michu, Agirretxe...? We can't call up everyone. We've decided to call up Soldado because he's had an amazing season," he answered.
Of course, he also spoke about team captain Iker Casillas, who lost his place in Real Madrid's starting XI to Diego López: "Iker suffered a slight injury. Then he recovered. The fact that he hasn't played for some months isn't significant. He's training and is in good shape," he explained.
"Diego López has already played in the national team without anyone telling us that he had to play. There is strong competition for places and we have some great players. He's had an outstanding season, but we have a lot of faith in Iker, just as we have Reina and Valdés", the coach added. "Casillas has been training hard during the past few months. I haven't spoken with him, but I've heard that he's in good shape. He's one of ours," he said.
Finally, he spoke about Fernando Torres and Javi Martínez, who have both been called up: "Whenever Torres and Javi Martínez didn't make the team in the past, it was because we felt it best and this time we've seen fit to call them up. They're in the provisional squad."
