2 survivors in Saratov helicopter crash

An instructor pilot and a cadet have survived a Mil Mi-8 military helicopter crash in the Saratov region, a source in the regional law enforcement authorities said.

According to tentative findings, the instructor and the cadet are alive. There is no information about the engineer," the source said.

A Mil Mi-8 helicopter has crashed in the Saratov region, a source in regional security services said.
"The Mi-8 helicopter belonged presumably to the Russian Air Force. It was flying a practice mission when it crashed for as yet unknown reasons. Fatalities have been reported," the source said.

The Russian Emergency Situations Ministry's Volga branch announced earlier that two people were reportedly killed when a helicopter crashed near the village of Ivanovsky in the Saratov region.
