Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan posted a record on his Facebook page, which says:
"ALL ARE EQUAL BEFORE THE LAW
Today, in order to participate in the celebrations of the Republic Day, me and the Vice-Chairman of the Parliament Eduard Sharmazanov were hurrying to Sardarapat, and that is why our cars violated traffic rules and exceeded the speed limit.
Gagik Shamshian's ruthless camera and speedometer, placed on the road fixed it.
Naturally, we will pay the fine and, of course, from our pockets and not from the pockets of drivers as we were the perpetrators of haste.
It is a pity that some of the fines will not be directed to communities of Armavir region.
I think in the future it is possible to suggest that part of this amount was directed to an off-budget account of the communities where the violation was recorded.
All are equal before the law."
