Messi will take 50 per cent of the profits from the 18 planned franchises merely for use of his image.

The themed Messi cafés will be made up of shirts, trophies and other memorabilia. Café Messi is said to be similar to the Hard Rock concept.

Leo Messi is set to have his own chain of cafés. The first Café Messi (of 18 planned all over Spain) is to open in Barcelona later in 2013, journalist of Goal.com Ben Hayward ‏ wrote on his Twitter page.
