Deulofeu, close to leaving on loan to Dortmund

Gerard Deulofeu could leave Barcelona for Dortmund this summer, according to Catalan newspapers ‘Sport’ and ‘Mundo Deportivo’. Bosses at Barça have received the player’s request, who believes a spell in Germany would help his development, with the possibility of getting more match time and the chance of playing in the Champions League.

The player has been picked by Tito Vilanova to play in the Copa Catalunya against Espanyol (tomorrow). The Barcelona team has eight players in it from the ‘B’ team including Deulofeu. The others are: Oier, Espinosa, Balliu, Sergi Gómez, Sergi Roberto, Rafinha and Patric. The club are missing Tello, Thiago, Bartra, Montoya and Muniesa, who have been called up by the under-21 Spanish side, as well as Iniesta and Valdés who are resting. Dani Alves is absent with the Brazil side and Abidal has permission to miss the game.
