Paraguay stops outbreak of dengue
World
Paraguayan authorities have managed to stop an epidemic of dengue - the most severe in the history of the country.
Since January this year 57 people have died in Paraguay from the disease.
"The number of cases has dropped all across the country. Incidence of the disease in the capital fell by 63%," says the report of Paraguay’s Ministry of Health.
However, the authorities have urged people not to weaken vigilance and strictly comply with sanitary norms - the disease is mainly spread by mosquitoes breeding in water tanks.
