Drug charge against Chuck Hagel's son dropped
USA
Prosecutors have dismissed marijuana charges against 20-year-old son of U.S. Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel, report court officials.
Charles Ziller Hagel was arrested June 19, 2012 on a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana several months before his Father was nominated to head the Pentagon. Since then, the court sessions were postponed four times.
Hagel was found with less than a gram of marijuana residue in his vehicle in a recreation center parking lot, said court papers.
The charges were dismissed after Charles Hagel performed 100 hours of community service as part of a first offender program.
Neither the defendant nor his counsel, nor Pentagon spokesman George Little offered comment on the incident.
