PSG to meet Carlo Ancelotti to discuss Real Madrid move
Sport
Paris Saint-Germain president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, will meet club coach Carlo Ancelotti this Thursday or Friday, to discuss his possible move to Real Madrid, according to Radio Montecarlo (RMC). PSG, recently crowned champions of Ligue 1, have finished their season and Ancelotti is keen to leave the club to come to the Spanish capital. The meeting may also be attended by a representative of Madrid, Ernesto Bronzetti.
The exact date of the meeting, and the nature of the discussions, depends upon the punishment handed out by the French disciplinary committee to PSG’s Sporting Director, Leonardo, for pushing a referee, as well as when the sentence is known. The Brazilian could take over as interim coach at the Paris club until, according to PSG’s plans, Arsène Wenger arrives from Arsenal within the next year. This though depends on the possible ban for Leonardo, which could be up to a year. The club’s thinking is that if the penalty is more than two months, it would be easier to keep Ancelotti than looking for another coach for the pre-Wenger period. The Italian however has confirmed his desire to leave the club.
