Musical tribute to Nureyev in Paris

A gala concert dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the birth of ballet legend Rudolf Nureyev took place at the Palais des Congres in Paris on Friday.
The performers included Russian ballet stars Dmitry Gudanov and Yevgenia Obraztsova from the Moscow Bolshoi Theatre, Yekaterina Kondaurova and Yevgeny Ivanchenko from the Mariinsky Theatre, Vadim Muntagirov of the English National Ballet, and Alexandra Timofeyeva from the Kremlin Ballet.
The 4,000-seat house was packed to capacity with the concert being broadcast to cinema houses across the country.
Rudolf Nureyev was born in the Volga city of Ufa in 1961.
While on a tour of Paris, he resolved never to return to the Soviet Union.
