Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis confirmed on Sunday that the club has received offers from several big name clubs for sought-after striker Edison Cavani, including a bid from Real Madrid but the Italian outfit has instructed interested parties to come up with the player’s buy-out fee. “Cavani has another four years left to run on his contract and the buy-out fee is 63 million euros. We have received offers from him but for figures much lower than the release clause,” club president De Laurentiis said.
He also announced that Rafa Beníez will be officially presented as first team coach on June 21st at Napoli’s training complex, Castel Volturno. “I decided on Benítez because he has won many trophies during his career and enjoyed a long spell with Liverpool. I personally contacted 10 coaches and elected the one who convinced me the most. He has requested that our youth teams and reserves employ the same system as the first team,” he added.
