“I want to etch my name in Barça history. Madrid is a great club, it makes me happy to think that two great clubs were interested in me but I followed my heart and my heart is with Barça. The dream of life has come true," said Neymar in the Camp Nou press room on the day he was unveiled by Barcelona.

“I felt so emotional being applauded, I struggled not to cry. I have dreamed of this day since I was a boy”.

 “I am not concerned about being the best in the world. Messi is the best in the world and I have come here to help him continue to be the best. I'm one of the luckiest guys in the world - to be able to play alongside someone like Messi".

Decision to join Barça: “It makes me happy to think that two great clubs [Madrid and Barcelona] were interested in me but I followed my heart and my heart is with Barça. I spoke with my family because the decision involves them too. Money doesn’t motivate us, it never has. Dani Alves was one of the people who encouraged me to come here. He said nice things about Barcelona”.
