Neymar was officially unveiled as a Barcelona player today but the 57 million euro (£49m) signing admitted he does not think he was worth the price.

The 21-year-old, donning the famous blue and burgundy Barca kit with ‘Neymar Jr’ printed on the back, was greeted by over 56,000 fans at the Nou Camp.

The Brazilian has joined a five-year contract from Santos after an intense two-year bidding war with Barca’s bitter La Liga rivals Real Madrid.

Neymar became the eighth most expensive signing in football history, and asked if he justified the fee, he laughed shyly and replied: ‘No, but I am very grateful that Barcelona did what it had to do complete my childhood, to be with my idols.’
