Russia
Passengers are being evacuated from the Moscow metro station Okhotny Ryad because a high-voltage cable has caught fire, a source in the law enforcement agencies said.
"A high-voltage cable has caught fire in the area of the metro station Okhotny Ryad. Passengers are being evacuated from the station," the source said, Interfax reported.
The press service for the Emergency Situations Ministry's department for Moscow said the cable is located between the station Okhotny Ryad and Biblioteka Imeni Lenina.
The cable is still under voltage and therefore firefighters have been unable to begin extinguishing the fire, the press service said.
Trains full of people have been stopped in the passages near the station Okhotny Ryad. Gray smoke can be seen near a metro air shaft. Trains have been temporarily halted between the stations Park Kultury and Komsomolskaya.
