"Zhoghovurd": New campaign against Armenian National Congress.

Armenia’s authorities plan a new propaganda campaign against the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC).

Specifically, they plan to publish “interesting facts” about opposition political figures.

Reliable sources informed the newspaper, that the authorities will try to focus on the opposition figures that are - or once were – “on friendly terms” with the ruling cicles. They will do it by leaking the information to the press to “prove” the ANC is not the opposition.

Lyudmila Sargsyan, an ANC member, considers the autorities’ plans “natural.” “Obviously, the authorities will try to discredit the ANC. A new popular wave is expected soon. We are going to monitor the elections in cooperation with other political forces, which may pose a threat to the ruling coalition’s forming parliamentary majority. The authorities made such abortive attempts in the past as well. But I think we are more reasonable than ambitious,” Mrs Sargsyan said during the interview with "Zhoghovurd" daily.
