"Haykakan Zhamanak": President Serzh Sargsyan is urged to get rid of Vova Gasparyan.

Haykakan Zhamanak (HZH) daily writes that according to its well-informed sources, some influential representatives surrounding president Serzh Sargsyan urged him to discuss further term expediency of RA chief of police Vova Gasparyan.

The problem has been included in the agenda after the strong public reaction on HZH reporter Hayk Gevorgyan's arrest. People dealing with authoritive PR, alarmed Serzh Sargsyan that by Hayk Gavorgyan's arrest Vova Gasparyan has finally got the image of ‘making false case’, which weakens authoritive power positions in pre-election period and destroys the existing [if it really exists] reputation of the police. According to the daily, Serzh Sargsyan accepting some of the above mentioned arguments, has negative attitude towards the dismissal idea of Vova Gasparyan, as he thinks it may have a negative effect on the ‘combat readiness’ of the police. In the opinion of the observers, if Vova Gasparyan is not dismissed during one-two weeks, he will stay in this post at list till the next new NA formation.
