The criminal proceedings—which were launched in connection with extracting the subscribers’ data from the offices of Armenia’s three mobile phone operators (Beeline, VivaCell, Orange) and selling of these data—are at Kotayk Regional Police Precinct, Zhoghovurd daily writes, referring to its sources close to the Police Force.
“It became apparent that some youth had stolen and sold all the phone numbers in the database of Beeline, VivaCell, and Orange. And since the Armenian society has a great interest in knowing someone else’s personal information, the business was quite successful, and these numbers were actively spread throughout the country,” Zhoghovurd writes.
