According to preliminary results of the 2011 census, Armenia’s de facto population is 2,871,509. This was announced yesterday by the president of RA national statistical service Stepan Mnatsakanyan. It becomes apparent that the official number of the permanent population has decreased by 130 thousand during the last 10 years.

The previous 2001 census showed Armenia’s permanent population to make 3,458,303.
