The Arab Foreign Ministers are meeting in Cairo on Sunday to discuss violence in Syria, report says.
It come as a resolution on Syria failed in the UN Security Council last week.
Dozens of people have been killed in Syria conflict recently, according to activists.
Activists say at least 35 people recently died, while a general was killed in Damascus.
Syrian government troops have continued to bomb the city of Homs.
Officials said today that the Arab Foreign Ministers will discuss a joint observing mission with the UN and recognition of the main opposition group.
Human rights groups have said that more than 7,000 people have died in Syria since March.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has circulated a draft resolution on Friday in support of an Arab peace plan for Syrian crisis which was vetoed last week by Russia and China.
The United Nations General Assembly will discuss Syria on Monday and will discuss the Saudi proposed resolution.
The UN General Assembly is comprised of 193 nations and would increase pressure on Assad to step down and end crackdown of anti-government protesters, TOLOnews.com reported.
