Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the constitutional reform in Ukraine should take into account the interests of all regions.
The situation in Ukraine was high on the agenda at the talks between Lavrov and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton in Madrid on Tuesday, March 4, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported on Wednesday.
“Lavrov explained Russia’s position that was expressed by President Vladimir Putin at a news conference on March 4,” the ministry said.
“The situation in Ukraine should be normalized in compliance with the principles of the Agreement on the Settlement of the Crisis in Ukraine of February 21. The agreement envisions the constitutional reform that should take into account the interests of all regions without any exception, the creation of a government of national unity and disarmament of illegal units,” Lavrov said.
