Ukraine’s national gas and oil company Naftogaz has settled its debt to Gazprom for the natural gas supplied by the Russian company in January. The Ukrainian company reported this on Thursday.
As earlier reported by Itar-Tass, in January, Gazprom supplied to Ukraine natural gas worth $658.4 million, and in February — gas worth $400 million.
Out of the overall debt for gas supplies in 2013, Ukraine has paid in February only $1.3 billion, “a bit less than 50%” of all the debt, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said earlier.
Until the end of March, Ukraine will pay for Russian gas $268.5 for 1,000 cubic meters.
