No prerequisites for federalization in Ukraine - Turchynov

Ukraine’s Acting President Oleksandr Turchynov, who was appointed to the post by the Verkhovna Rada (parliament), believes that the country “has no prerequisite whatsoever for its federalization.” He made this statement at an exercise of the National Guard.
He also noted that more rights should be given to the regions.

“Our regions should effectively function, independently determine and form in the future executive committees and also have finances for exercising their powers, within the framework of a unitary state,” Turchinov said.
