Russia’s First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov on Thursday held a meeting with the Ukrainian Economics Minister, Pavlo Sheremeta, on the sidelines of the Eastern Forum in Berlin.
“We had only a meeting on the sidelines as part of the session where we took part,” he said. “We discussed a possible co-existence of two free trade zones - a CIS free trade zone and a zone that Ukraine is seeking to set up with the EU.”
“We tried to see whether or not they were compatible and how it would be possible to combine the two,” Shuvalov said.
“It was much rather a dialogue on institutions,” Shuvalov said adding that Russia had more than once made proposals to hold this discussion with all the parties concerned.
