The Head of the Armenian delegation Davit Harutyunyan at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe does not expect any concrete actions from PACE upon Kessab. Davit Harutyunyan noted in a conversation with Armenpress that PACE is a political body and accepts only political statements.
“I think that we should not expect any immediate actions from the political body since the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe cannot even accept obligatory formulae,” he said. Davit Harutyunyan noted that to raise the issue of Kessab in the Assembly they went to the way of spreading a statement. “This is such a statement that has no less power than statements made by other countries,” the Armenian delegate stated. The Delegates that signed under that statement expressed their political position upon the events in Kessab.
