Gunmen kill lawmaker in North Caucasus’ Dagestan

A lawmaker of the legislative assembly in the Russian North Caucasian Republic of Dagestan was killed in the Dagestani town of Khasavyurt in a gunfire at a car with him inside it, the website of the Russian Investigative Committee reported.

“Unidentified gunmen opened gunfire at a car Lexus 470 in which lawmaker of the people’s legislative assembly in the Republic of Dagestan, deputy chairman of the budget committee Musa Islavov and his driver were driving at around 8am Moscow time on April 17, 2014. The killers escaped supposedly in a car Lada Priora. Islavov died of gunshot wounds, the driver was taken to hospital in heavy condition,” the committee stated.
