Government taking steps to give reasonable answer to questions on accumulative pension: Prime Minister
Armenia
The Government must give reasonable answers to all the questions related to the law on "Accumulative Pensions". This was stated by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan in his interview with the journalists at the Parliament. "For that we asked to be given some time. We turned to the political forces, so that they would have their representatives, to work together and to give response to our citizens” – reports “Armenpress”, citing the Prime Minister.
Hovik Abrahamyan noted that he had already made the first step, introducing to the approval of the Parliament the bill on suspending the fines and penalties. "For the other issues we need to introduce a reasonable bill, in accordance with the decision of the Constitutional Court” - he said, stressing that there should be no rush, and the mandatory component is "de facto" suspended. He mentioned that the remaining issues will become clear and definite after the discussions. To the question, that the people want to know for sure, whether the accumulative payments will be kept from them, Hovik Abrahamyan responded, that everything will be clear only after the decision is made.
The Parliament discusses the bill, introduced by the Government of the Republic of Armenia, on the suspension of the actions of the article 76 of the law on "Accumulative Pensions", which proposes to suspend the calculation of the fines and penalties in case the mandatory accumulative payments are not made.
