Russian super heavyweight boxer Alexander Povetkin and Germany’s Manuel Charr have signed a deal on a boxing match, a source close to the matter told ITAR-TASS on Tuesday.
The fight will take place May 30 in Moscow. The venue has not been chosen yet.
Charr, who ranks sixth in the World Boxing Council (WBC) list, won 26 matches (15 KOs) and lost only one. The German boxer had the last match on April 12, beating American Kevin Johnson. In September 2012, Manuel Charr fought against Ukrainian Vitali Klitschko for the title of WBC world champion and lost by TKO in the fifth round because of a cut.
Povetkin, who won 26 fights in a row on the professional ring (18 KOs), was defeated on points in a match against Ukraine’s Wladimir Klitschko in October 2013. The Russian boxer did not take the ring since then.
