Liberation of Shushi and Victory in Patriotic War was celebrated in "Victory" Park

The 22th anniversary of the liberation of Shushi and the 69th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War was celebrated in Yerevan’s "Victory" Park. The representatives of the executive body headed by Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, as well as the Members of the Parliament and the Mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan laid flowers at the monument to the Unknown Soldier and with one minute of silence paid tribute to the memory of the victims of the Great Patriotic War and the liberation of Shushi. In the interview with the journalists the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia first of all wished the veterans health and long life. "We highly appreciate their contribution because they have done credit to the Armenian nation in the Great Patriotic War. We will always respect and honor them, we – the authorities, are obliged to respect the path they took.
We wish them health and long life" – reports “Armenpress”, citing the Prime Minister. In his words, no matter how much the Government respects and supports the veterans, it will not be sufficient. After the military parade held in the park, the Prime Minister and senior officials together with the veterans took part in the military tent dinner. May 9 – for the Armenian people is thrice a holiday – Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War for the Soviet peoples, including the Armenians, the Day of Liberation of Shushi and the Day of creation of the Defense Army of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.
