Guba protest action ends in Azerbaijan.

18 people, who were brought to the police office on the eve of rally in Guba today, have been released.
According to the APA’s correspondent on the site, MP from Guba, Vahid Ahmadov told the people, who gathered outside the police office, that all of them, who were brought to the police office had been released.
Vahid Ahmadov advised the picketers to disperse. After, the participants of the protest action left the site.
A protest action was held outside the building of Guba regional executive power today. Participants of the action protested the head of local executive power Rauf Habibov for his recent offensive remarks about the residents of Guba region. Police called the protesters to leave the site because the action was unauthorized. The protesters burnt the auxiliary buildings of the regional executive power, tea house and broke the windows of the building. Fire fighting vehicles of the Guba Region State Fire Protection unit were involved to the site. Fire was extinguished. The executive power’s building was damaged. Approximately 500-600 protesters burnt the house of head of the Guba REP Rauf Habibov, situated in front of Guba Olympics Sport Complex.
The protesters said they demanded only the resignation of the head of local executive power in Guba. “We support President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. We always support his policy and closely unite around him. We rely only on him”, the protesters told APA.
They also said that this protest action was only against the head of Guba executive power Rauf Habibov: “We are sure that the president will attentively approach our protest.”
Protesters also underlined that they held the portraits of Azerbaijani President and slogans supported him.
They chanted slogans only against the head of executive power and demanded his resignation. Minister of transport Ziya Mammadov, member of the parliament from Guba Vahid Ahmadov and department chief of the Presidential Administration Zeynal Naghdaliyev are in the region. They said they would talk with the people and investigate the issue.
In his speech, Ziya Mammadov said that the Guba residents and their problems were attentively approached and apologized: “It is impossible to solve the problem by burning the house, All problems will be solved. There is no need to fall for such provocations”.
Four people – three police and one protester were injured during the protest action in Guba region today.
