Karabakh Army soldier killed confronting Azeri diversionists

An overnight act of sabotage by the Azerbaijani armed forces saw an Armenian soldier killed in the southern direction of the Line of Contact, reports the Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Ministry’s press service.

The Azerbaijani side suffered two losses; one more serviceman was injured. The frontline subdivisions of the Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army immediately resorted to retaliation, repelling the attack. The killed Armenian serviceman is Erik V Gasparyan, 19.

In its statement, the Ministry of Defense extended its condolences to the family, friends and fellow servicemen of the deceased.

A probe is now underway into further details. The frontline subdivisions are said to be continuing the military vigil across the Line of Contact.
