Armenian wrestlers are returning from Italy with large collection of medals

The representatives of our country made an excellent work at the international championships of both free and Greco-Roman styles of wrestling, held in the Italian city Sassari on May 30-31. In the freestyle wrestling «Sassari city» tournament, which this year was held for the 19th time, the representatives of Armenia Volodya Frangulyan (61 kg) and Grigor Grigoryan (70 kg) took the 1st place and Garik Barseghyan (57 kg), David Safaryan (65 kg) and Edgar Yenokyan (97 kg) were the 3rd. The freestyle wrestling team of the Republic of Armenia took part in the tournament in Italy headed by the head coach, Honoured Sportsman of Armeni a, Arayik Baghdadyan. Armenia's freestyle wrestling team finished in the 3rd place, winning 2 gold and 3 bronze medals. As reports “Armenpress”, this was informed on the official website of the Wrestling Federation of Armenia.

In the prestigious «Milone Trophi» tournament, held already for the 33rd time in the same city and the same sports hall, among our wrestlers the winners were: Roman Amoyan (59 kg), Arsen Julfalakyan (75 kg), Artur Shahinyan (85 kg) and Artur Aleksanyan (98 kg). Aram Julfalakyan - 66 kg weight class wrestler took the 2nd place, the 85 kg weight class wrestler Maxim Manukyan - the 3rd place. The Armenian national team in Greco-Roman style achieved this success thanks to the efforts of the coach, the Honoured Coach of Armenia, the Olympic champion Levon Julfalakyan , and the team took the 2nd place.
