President Serzh Sargsyan participated in figure skating school groundbreaking

Yerevan will have a new figure skating school to be opened in 2015. And today, on June 5, its groundbreaking ceremony was held, and the President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan participated in it. The new figure skating school will be built in Admiral Isakov Avenue 27/8 in Yerevan. An active and direct participation in the idea of bringing to life the construction of the school has had the triple Olympic Figure Skating Champion, World and European Champion, Russia's State Duma Deputy Irina Rodnina.

Rodnina told the reporters that the idea of building a school of figure skating she has considered for many years, as there have always been good skaters from Armenia, Yerevan, but Armenia has always had problems with the ice. "I hope very much that this new school will help to revive the traditions of figure skating in Armenia, it is possible to raise new champions, which the city and the country will be proud of" – as reports “Armenpress”, said Rodnina.
