State Duma to consider bill on entry fees for foreigners coming to Russia visa-free

Russian legislators have drafted a bill, according to that foreigners entering the country on the visa-free basis will have to pay an entrance fee.
Authors of the bill say the reason for it was the intention to reduce the budget expenses for sending out foreigners, whose stay in Russia is considered unwanted.
The bill’s author, Oleg Nilov of A Just Russia, refers to similar practices used in Egypt, Barbados, Tunisia, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and the Maldives. He mentioned also the European Union countries, which charge an entrance insurance fee
