'There is progress in the discussions between Azerbaijan and Russia regarding Gabala radar'.
The statement came from deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Ryabkov at the briefing, APA reports.
Deputy Minister said he does not participate in the talks on Gabala radar, noted that there are problems in the terms of exploitation and rental payment.
“I can say that Azerbaijan and Russia are close to reach an agreement on Gabala radar,” he said.
Deputy Minister also spoke about Azerbaijan-Russia relations.
“One can rarely find such two friendly countries. Though Azerbaijan and Russia are discussing Gabala radar, the status of the Caspian Sea, there are some problems, all this does not influence our friendship,” he said.
