Armenian manufacturers invest new systems of food safety and quality assurance
Armenia
The Government of the Republic of Armenia will lay a task upon the producers to profoundly implement the systems of food safety and quality assurance. This was stated by the Head of the State Food Security Service (SFSS) of the Ministry of Agriculture Abram Bakhchagulyan at the conference on the international food safety standards on July 4. According to him, the State Food Security Service (SFSS), together with the World Bank Group member International Financial Corporation (IFC) worked over two years for the implementation program of quality and safety systems in the production sector. "In 2012, we jointly published manuals on Good Hygiene Practice (GHP) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). Today we have gone a bit ahead. The service has developed around seven industry quality and safety system implementation manuals, guidelines for analysis of the source of danger and control of
the critical points. The state gives the producers the opportunity to invest these systems, to be more confident in the self-control systems, as the food safety is very important in the production stage” – reports “Armenpress”, citing the official.
