Number of Ukrainian refugees accommodated in Russia approaches 24,000

Another 1,800 refugees from Ukraine have been accommodated at temporary facilities in Russia since Saturday.
"As of today, we have organized 341 temporary accommodation facilities, where 23,843 people, including 9,295 children, are staying," spokesman of the Russian Emergencies Ministry (EMERCOM) Alexander Drobyshevsky said on Monday.

EMERCOM has organized eight mobile accommodation facilities to house 3,600 people.

The emergency situation regime has been announced in the Rostov, Volgograd, Astrakhan regions, in Sevastopol and in a part of the Stavropol territory, as well as in one district of Karachay-Cherkessia.

“Ukrainian citizens come mostly to Crimea and Sevastopol, as well as to bordering regions in the Central and Southern Federal Districts,” the source said. All the people receive everything necessary at the temporary facilities.

“EMERCOM has organized a hotline for the displaced persons, and we have received over 3,000 inquiries,” he said.
The ministry’s aviation and vehicle convoys have delivered over 10,700 Ukrainian citizens from the Rostov region and from Crimea to Russia’s other regions.

EMERCOM’s mobile hospital is working in the city of Donetsk in the Rostov region (close to the border with Ukraine), where 235 Ukrainian refugees have received medical assistance since July 2.
