The Israeli ordnance explosion killed five, injured several people on Wednesday in the Gaza Strip. The accident happened when police engineers were neutralizing the ordnance, said the enclave administration official.
AP confirmed the explosion killed its journalist.
The situation is calm on the Israeli border with the Gaza Strip. Indirect talks renewed on Monday with Egypt’s mediation are now entering a decisive phase and should end with an agreement. Otherwise, expiration of 72-hour truce at midnight on Thursday risks resuming the armed confrontation.
