Azerbaijan used UAV on the line of contact

Growth of ceasefire regime violations was noticed in the night of January 10­11 in the line of contact of the Karabakh­Azerbaijani opposing armies. In accordance with the operative data of the Defense Army of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic, within the mentioned period the rival violated the ceasefire regime for about 200 times on the line of contact of Karabakh­Azerbaijani opposing armies. More than 2000 bullets were fired towards our troops during this period. Besides the abovementioned violations, the rival used also unmanned aerial vehicles in the line of contact of Karabakh­Azerbaijani opposing armies.

The Press Service of the Ministry of Defense of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic informed Armenpress that the subdivisions of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia keep the operative­tactical situation under the constant control and implement corresponding actions in case of necessity. 

Earlier it was reported that the Azerbaijani side kept shooting towards the Armenian positions during the entire night, keeping the Armenian­Azerbaijani border under tension after the unsuccessful subversive action that occurred in the Tavush Region on January 11. “The tension continued for some time after the incident that occurred in the Tavush Region. The Armenian forces gave an appropriate response to all the shots. Based on the international humanitarian norms, the subdivisions of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia allowed the Azerbaijani side to retrieve the dead body of one of the saboteurs”, ­ the Armenian defense minister’s press secretary Artsrun Hovhannisyan made a note in his Facebook profile, Armenpress reports.

The Azerbaijani Armed Forces made a subversive attempt on January 11 at about 17:30 in Baghanis Village of Tavush Region. The Armenian defense minister’s press secretary Artsrun Hovhannisyan told Armenpress that the actions of the rival’s subversive group were noticed by the Armenian Armed Forces on time and the subversive group was neutralized.

“Today at about 17:30 the Azerbaijani Armed Forces made a subversive attempt in Baghanis Village of Tavush Region. The actions of the rival’s subversive group were noticed by the Armenian Armed Forces on time. Due to the rapid response of the Armenian Army, the actions of the subversive group, violated the state border of the Republic of Armenia, were neutralized. The dead body of one of the subversive group members is in the inter­positional territory. Unfortunately, an Armenian shepherd Seryozha Sargsyan, born in 1935, was killed during the crossfire. The subdivisions of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia keep the situation under control. The whole responsibility for the incident is on the Azerbaijani military­political authorities”, ­ said the Armenian defense minister’s press secretary Artsrun Hovhannisyan.
