Gevorg Kostanyan: "The criminal attacked our country's citizens, meaning he attacked me"

Armenia’s Prosecutor General Gevorg Kostanyan is in Gyumri and is answering the questions concerning the people gathered in ront of the building of the Prosecutor’s Office in Gyumri. Kostanyan mentioned that Armenia’s investigative group has been at the Russian 102 nd military base since 12:00 on January 15 and is carrying out the necessary investigative operations in relation to the murder that took place in Gyumri on January 12. Armenian investigators are interrogating the main suspect, Valery Permyakov.
“It’s clear that this was a crime against the Armenian people. It’s a fact that we’ll do everything we can to make sure the criminal is brought to justice and in the Republic of Armenia. There are two cases, one by Armenian legislation and one by Russian legislation.
The case has to be investigation in Armenia, and that’s a fair demand. It’s a process, and the investigators are working. The criminal attacked our country’s citizens, meaning he attacked me, and I’ll do everything I can to make sure that scoundrel is brought to justice by law, but there is a road that we must take,” Kostanyan said, as “ArmenPress” reports. The Prosecutor General reiterated that the proceedings for the case will be held in the territory of the Republic of Armenia.
