Neither Russia’s energy ministry nor Russian companies abandon plans to develop shelf fields, despite Western sanctions, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said on Friday.
"The sanctions have caused certain difficulties with attracting foreign partners," he said at the Arctic Expedition Russian youth forum. "Nonetheless, we haven’t abandoned our shelf development plans, and companies that have liabilities haven’t abandoned such plans either. We will use other equipment, we will take efforts to establish domestic production of such equipment. We are already taking efforts to substitute imported goods. We have a relevant program. We are working with other partners, including from Asia Pacific."
