One of the leaders of the international movement for the rights of the disabled Victor Pineda is in Yerevan

The Chief Architect of Yerevan Tigran Barseghyan received one of the leaders of the international movement for the rights of the disabled Victor Pineda who had arrived in Yerevan with the aim of organization of the discussions of the issues related to accessibility expansion for disabled people.
Greeting the guest on behalf of Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan Chief Architect Tigran Barseghyan presented in brief the General plan of Yerevan and noted that special attention is paid in the document to the problem of accessibility of the city environment for people with disabilities.
The head of the Department of Foreign Relations of the Municipality David Gevorgyan noted that the Municipality of Yerevan has a rich experience of cooperation with the USA Embassy in Armenia and expressed hope that this meeting would give its results too.
The of the Department of Social Welfare of the Municipality Ruzanna Zakaryan noted that on the instruction of Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan all the activities in this sphere are carried out under tight supervision taking into account the opinions and suggestions of non-governmental organizations.
Having thanked for warm reception the lecturer of the chair of urban and regional planning of the University of California, scientific researcher of the World Institute on Disability Victor Pineda noted that being in Yerevan just once he noticed how much attention is paid by the city authorities to the problems of people with disabilities. Victor Pineda expressed hope that the further cooperation with the Municipality of Yerevan will become constructive.
