A new park is going to be created in the area adjacent to the historical area of “Karmir blur” in Yerevan

The citywide tree planting has united everybody since very morning. New saplings were also planted in the area of about 1 hectare adjacent to the historical area of “Karmir blur” in the administrative district of Shengavit in Yerevan. Together with numerous residents Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan took part in the tree planting. In accordance with the project and the presented scheme this are replenished with new saplings is going to be turned into another cosy park in the capital.
“I am sure that this land plot with the surface of 1 hectare will replenish the number of beautiful parks of the capital. I think that after looking at these drafts you have imagined what a nice place it is going to be. As we have promised we will go on expanding the green areas of the capital”, stressed the Mayor of Yerevan.
As a program priority the Municipality of Yerevan attaches particular importance to restoration and expansion of green areas. Within the recent two years 127 thousand trees and bushes were planted in Yerevan. Another 30 thousand trees and more than 8000 bushes are to be planted this year within the spring tree planting. It should be mentioned that till April 26 20 thousand rose bushes are to be planted as well.
“Taking care of the saplings is of not less importance than planting. I am sure you have noticed that tree planting has been carried out only in irrigated areas. In this regard I’d like to note that within the recent two years we constructed a new irrigation system of 63 km. This year another new system of 20 km length will be constructed”, stressed Mayor Taron Margaryan.
