A special meeting of the Council of Elders of Yerevan has taken place

At the special meeting of the Council of Elders of Yerevan convened on April 14, before turning to the items on the agenda Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan informed that the member of the “Prosperous Armenia” faction of the Council Raffi Gyozalyan gave a notice of resignation. It was noted that he would stay member of the Council of Elders in accordance with the order established by law.
Starting the items of the agenda the Council discussed and approved of the investment project submitted by “Gazprom Armenia” CJSC which is going to construct an educational complex at Tsarav Aghbyur 55/25. According to the project, the complex is to include a comprehensive school, a kindergarten, a covered swimming pool, a gym, a mini-football ground. The complex will have a covered ice-rink, an underground parking as well as a recreation zone. As a result of the program implementation more than 236 working places will be created. Taking into account the mentioned above the Council of Elders made a decision to alienate the Yerevan community-owned land plot and the constructions at Tsarav Aghbyur 55/25 to “Gazprom Armenia” by direct selling. According to the project the preliminary rates of the investment planned by the company is USD 49.3 million in AMD equivalence.
The Council of Elders also approved the program of “Construction of a multi-functional block of flats for young specialists in the area adjacent to Tsarav Aghbyur 55/6 in the administrative district of Avan’ which was submitted by “The union of Yerevan State University graduates” NGO by which the organization implements the social program of housing. Within the frames of this program it is planned to build living complexes in modern architectural solutions and the flats in these multi-functional blocks of flats will be divided between the young specialists of the Republic of Armenia at the process lower than market ones. Thus, the Council of Elders made a decision to alienate by direct sales the land plot and the construction at Tsarav Aghbyur 55/26 to the NGO “ The union of Yerevan State University graduated”.
Taking into account the circumstance that the NGO “Sasun-Taron patriotic union” carries out a large-scale public, cultural, educational, social, patriotic and publishing activities in the Republic of Armenia and in Diaspora as well as the fact that the organization since its establishment has played an important role in the defence of the borders of Armenia and Artsakh and in patriotic upbringing of the generations the Council of Elders made a decision on alienation for 10-year free use of the community-owned land plot and the construction at Estonakan 12/3 to “Sasun-Taron patriotic union” NGO.
The Council also made decisions on free use alienation of the Community-owned flats to the deacon of Surb Sargis church Hovhannes Mersisyan and to the chief editor of the official newspaper “Shoghakn Araratyan” of the Ararat Patriarchal Diocese Hasmik Yeghiazaryan.
