European Games: Armenian sambo wrestler reaches semifinals

Sambo competitions have started at the European Games in Baku, Azerbaijan. The Armenian sambo wrestler Ashot Danielyan (90kg) defeated Valeri Melashevich (Moldova) in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals the Armenian sambo wrestler is to have a bout with Andrey Kazusionak (Belarus). Armenpress reports that Tigran Kirakosyan (57kg) lost his first fight.

The First European Games are held in Baku on June 12-­28 2015. Armenia is represented by 25 sportsmen.
