Armenia draws attention of Minsk Group to Azerbaijan’s destabilizing conduct

The mode of action of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces contradicts the logic and spirit of the resolution of the Nagorno­-Karabakh
conflict in the frames of the OSCE Minsk Group co­presidency. It poses the threat of abrupt destabilization of the situation and its
responsibility falls upon the militarypolitical authorities of Azerbaijan.

As Armenpress reports, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia draws the attention of the OSCE Minsk Group Co­Presidents and the international society to the fact that Azerbaijan’s actions directed at aggravating the situation coincide with the end of the European Games held in Baku and the anniversary of the establishment of Azerbaijan’s Armed Forces. It reaffirms the continuation of warlike policy of that state. We are calling the Azerbaijani side to abstain from aggravating the situation.

The Azerbaijani side violated the ceasefire regime in the direction of Nakhchivan of the Armenian­Azerbaijani border at 18.30 on June 26 by firing shots from weapons of different calibers in the direction of Gorhayk, Syunik. The Armenian soldiers took actions in response and the rival suffered losses and had to cease firing. According to operative data, Nakhchivan Army has victims and wounded soldiers. Unfortunately serviceman of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia Arman Mayis Yepremyan was killed during the skirmish. The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia sends its condolences to the family and relatives of Arman Yepremyan.
