Electricity tariff to be subsidized by extra­-budget means. Armenia’s Prime Minister

The government will subsidize the increased electricity tariff by non­budget means. Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Hovik
Abrahamyan mentioned this in a briefing with journalists. He stressed that sums from the budget will not be spent for subsidizing but did not reveal the source of funding. As Armenpress reports, Hovik Abrahamyan said that the source will be announced in the future.

In response to the question why the violations revealed in “Electric Networks of Armenia” CJSC as a result of audit in the previous years were not mitigated, the Prime Minister said that that question should be addressed to the owner of the company. As regards the protests on Baghramyan Avenue, Hovik Abrahamyan said that the President introduced the activists the steps of the state and the demonstrators should be satisfied.
