Armenian president visits Agarak copper and molybdenum plant.

During his working visit to the Syunik region, Armenia, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan visited the Agarak Copper and Molybdenum Combine.
The Armenian president participated in the launching ceremony of the new production lines and got acquainted with the combine’s operation.
The Armenian president cut the ribbon of the new building constructed on the Russian $500m loan. The building was constructed under an economic stabilization program.

Artak Ohanyan, Chief Engineer, Agarak Copper and Molybdenum Combine, said that the project will be launched on full scale before this year end.
“We expect a 20% increase in output and 80 to 100 new jobs,” Ohanyan said.
As regards environmental risk, Ohanyan said that all the production meets all environmental standards.
“The engineering solutions will also save natural resources,” he said.
The new building of the ore-dressing works was constructed this February. The building is equipped with modern European flotators. Last year, the output totaled 2.7m tons, with the copper content being 0.34, and molybdenum content 0.0178. The copper concentrate output totaled 26,400 tons and molybdenum concentrate output, 628 tons.
