In the run-up to Armenia’s National Assembly elections, capital Yerevan’s former Mayor Gagik Beglaryan is attempting to secure votes for the single-mandate MP candidates who are nominated from the capital’s Kentron [Central] district and by the ruling coalition’s Republican Party of Armenia, Hraparak daily writes.
“According to our information, Beglaryan recently invited to a restaurant the representatives from the educational, medical, and other institutions under the City Hall’s jurisdiction, and organized a feast in connection with April 7, the Motherhood [and Beauty] Day.
Also, Central’s MP candidates Ruben Sadoyan and Garegin Nushikyan were on hand.
Those present [, however] were much more impressed not by the candidates’, but [rather] by Beglaryan’s—Mayor-like—demeanor,” Hraparak writes.
