More than 17.500 shots fired in direction of Armenian border units within last week

According to operative data of the Nagorno Karabakh Defense Army, ceasefire regime has been violated nearly 950 times by the rival on the contact line of Karabakh-­Azerbaijan opposing armies uring August 23-­29. Over 17.500 shots were fired in the direction of Armenian border protecting units from different caliber weapons, including 60, 82, and 120 mm mortars and RPG-­7 grenade launchers.

As “Armenpress” was informed from the press service of the NKR Defense Army, in the given period the rival used also Turkish made TP­-107 reactive rocket launcher. In addition to the abovementioned ceasefire violations, the rival attempted to make subversive actions in the eastern direction of the contact line between Karabakh­-Azerbaijan opposing armies at 01:40 on August 28. Defense Army front line units documented the advancement of Azerbaijani armed forces special unit composed of 20­25 people. The enemy was repelled causing casualties to the Azerbaijani side.

The front line units of the Defense Army continue confidently carrying out the military objective set before them.
