The members of the international convention over the “Islamic State” called for the USA and the UN to declare the IS actions in the Middle East a genocide. As “Armenpress” reports, citing catholiccourier.com, former USA congressman Frank Wolf mentioned, “We failed with the Armenian genocide in Turkey. We failed in Srebrenica, BosniaHerzegovina, where 8,000 men were slaughtered 20 years ago”. Will we fail again already in the Middle East?” asked Wolf.
''The evil of the past is again upon us,'' said Katrina Lantos Swett, chair of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom. She remembered her father's story, who was a Holocaust survivor.
“No religious group has been free of IS actions, Christians, Yazidis and even Muslims who do not subscribe to the Islamic State's ideology”, Swett emphasized, ''Silence is no option”.
Aram Hamparian, head of the Armenian National Committee of America, emphasized. “Those, who are guilty in conducting the genocide, know that if they have sufficient power and sufficient strength, they will be able to get the West surrender. As long as we treat genocide as a political commodity, we will fall silent again and again”.
