Despite the seeming confrontation between the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) and the Prosperous Armenia party (PAP) the representatives of these two parties clearly adhere to the arrangements achieved in the pre-electoral period.
According to it, the PAP has not nominated candidates against the RPA candidates in 23 election districts and the RPA has not nominated candidacies in 8 election districts. They have agreed that in these election districts the PAP will back RPA’s candidates and vice versa. The paper claims the self-withdrawal of Rule of Law party member Manuk Vardanyan, minister of transport and communication, from # 25 election district is agreed with this circumstance: according to the arrangement, in the mentioned district the RPA was to back PAP member Davit Kocharyan. Gagik Tsarukyan though has not stated anywhere that his party is backing a RPA candidate, nonetheless the latter state it is another arrangement.
